This picture was taken in 2002. I'd never heard of the Palace of Fine Arts before I took this picture, I didn't know it existed. I was traveling the "Scenic Route" of San Francisco, when I turned from Bay Street, I saw this magnificent building right in front of me. I was in awe. I would never have thought that such a place would exist in San Francisco that I would stumble upon. I would have thought this would be something that would be much touted, advertised, promoted that a visitor to SF would not miss. May be I'm just too removed, may be I thought I know SF well enough. In fact, it was my 3rd visit to SF, but there was a 10 year lapse in between.
The picture was taken with film, and the old negative was recently scanned. It does have that old negative feel. Below is a picture taken in 2007 on digital.

Compare two images : Not much differences, nearly the same angle, trees maintain the same height,same blue sky ...
