Getting really up close

Flower Show
Photography can be a good sport -- in order to take pictures, you have to drag yourself and the equipment to where the subject is (or you drag your subject to your equipment, whatever) and you have to take whatever action required to complete the task. It may not be something comparable to running 30 minutes on a treadmill, but it definitely beats running on the treadmill -- you mind is exercising with you, and you get great pleasure in capturing a good image (doesn't matter if it is really good in an absolute sense, as long as it is good in your eyes).  Truth is, photography often open up our eyes, literally -- if I was not taking a picture of this flower, I would never have appreciated the beauty of this plant so up close. I wonder if anyone would look at a plant so up close and in such detail!!
