Isolated Trees

High Island

This looked like the aftermath of a nuclear disaster, with only few trees left standing.  Photographs are deceptive, this place was in fact full of life.  The barren island was usually submerged in water, exposed only when this reservoir was slightly depleted.  I used black-and-white to give this place the look of devastation, manipulated the curves to flatten the tone and reduced the composition to the few graphical elements, and am happy with the final result.
