| London at World Cup Night |
It's funny how a photographer remembers every bit about a photo he'd taken. This was taken in London, on a night with a very important World Cup soccer match, and people were converging on pubs and bars wearing costumes of their team color, one of the competing teams was the Netherlands and their team color was orange. I was not a fan of soccer, and as I was a visitor to this city, I rather spend the evening strolling the streets, seeing the unfamiliar scenes, watching the unfamiliar faces, and taking pictures as I roam the streets. Twice I stepped into a nearby pub just to keep up with the scores, and twice, as I stepped into the pub, and within about 30 seconds, there was a score!! No, I didn't step into the pub because of the noise from the goal. I stepped into the pub BEFORE the goal, I looked at the big screen and as if it was a replay, I watched the goal, and then the huge roar from fans, and the whole nine yard..... It's interesting I can still remember vividly.
