White buidings in the afternoon sun

Looking east at Yau Tong
This was a shot at the driving range. As usual, I had my camera with me and as I was finishing my session of swinging my driver, I spotted this strange blend of light and shadow.  This Jpeg file came straight out of the camera and I found it fascinating with all the contrast without any post-processing -- I was actually new to digital photography and didn't really know how to post-process, and that's why I was still shooting Jpeg.
Of course there are still lots of debate over RAW versus Jpegs. The latest crop of cameras are producing excellent Jpeg files right out of the camera, and for those faint of heart, shooting Jpeg in fact is like those film shooting days, any post-processing is pretty much out of control.  I for one is neutral on the debate of RAW versus Jpeg, as long as one knows exactly what he/she is doing when he/she chooses the file format.
Once I was amongst a photo tour group, meaning the sole purpose of the group going on a tour together was for photography.  We have all sorts of state-of-the-art cameras and accessories.  I asked the inappropriate question of who's shooting Jpeg, and to my surprise, most of them do.....
I still remeber the day I switched the file format from Jpeg to RAW for the very first time and I could not believe my eyes, it was like I found a new camera!!  Nowadays, the Jpeg could have been the more preferred file right out of the camera.
