Abstract Landscape

Abstract Landscape
This is a picture of poor quality -- the original colors were wrong, the sharpness was off, the contrast was low...... But when I rendered it in black and white and actually reduced its sharpness, it turns out to be a very nice abstract landscape.  The meandering valley takes the eye from near to far, from dark to bright, and eventually into the very edge which seems to lead to eternity.

This picture was taken in 2004, and I considered it not a very worthwhile photo.  My bad habit is I never throw away any picture which has even the slightest potential.  And then from time to time I would go through my archive to see if I have a different feel with my old photos, and quite often, I surprised myself with my changing perspective.  This picture here is a perfect example.
I also get into the habit of looking at pictures a few months after I've taken them, when my excitement is not affecting my rational judgement of the pictures.  A lot of pictures were taken from intuition, instead of from careful planning and composition, and quite often, the intuition-led pictures were not apparently successful, but they would grow on me when I spend time massaging, or simply looking at them.
