Life in a remote village

Life in a remote village
That's what you do before the age of the refrigerator -- you hang the meat out of the way of dogs and cats and crawlies and out in the sun and wind and it will stay dry and well for a longer period of time.  With the continuous growth of the economy, there is rarely a family going without a fridge, but here we were, in a remote village, life came to a standstill.
It is in fact a difficult picture with the bundle of meat in the sun but the rest of the place in the shade.  Or may be in a sense it was an easy picture with such strong contrast of the subject over the background.  This isn't my favorite picture, I think it lacked a good composition of the elements.  And the subject wasn't a pretty thing -- a bunch of butchered meat?  It's gross.....
