The large collection of architectural astronomical instrument here were built at a scale large enough to enable a larger degree of precision. To use these instruments, one had to be "inside" the instrument. And in order to preserve the geometric dimensions at a high level of precision, most were built with marble, granite or similar long lasting material, and thus the whole place is like a huge collection of monochromatic sculptures -- and thus my inspiration in doing this picture......
