In the middle of the city

In a deserted place in the middle of the city, this out-of-this-world scrupture of a man reading looked completely out of place, with its bright "over-saturated" colors and the same over-saturated color backdrop.  The surrounding seemed like black-and-white in contrast. I did not do one bit of local saturation with this picture, it was just so "contrasty".  
At the position I was standing, the next picture was what I came across when I turned back.

Laundry is a common sign here, all families hang their laundries outside, and outside simply means any space "outside" of their cramped space.  
We need to develop a special liking to "hanging laundries" or else we would be choked.  Here's another more appealing picture of drying laundry.
