There is this thing that happened to me a lot of times -- I'll just put the supposedly main subject of a picture at the very edge, just like this picture here. The bright yellow maple leave is the main subject, no doubt, but with natural instinct, I just put it at the very far corner of the picture, believing that it will attract its share of attention.  I'll leave it up to you to be the judge, but for reason I cannot explain, I am sure I'll continue with this nontraditional way of composition.
